AVAILABILITY OF THE BARS
AT THE RENTALS
The 2018 season is the second for our
for many types of cars, but not for everyone.
It Doesn't exist a universal roof bar for every car model.
ASK THE RENTER ABOUT THE BARS
To find out if the renter has the roof bars
for your car, look up in the product sheet you're interested.
At the bottom, you can see the accessories available,
and there you'll find the opportunity to ask questions as well.
DO YOU ALREADY HAVE THE BARS
OR DO YOU INTEND TO BUY THIS?
Continue with the article to know the necessary technical specifications.
MAXIMUM LOAD CAPACITY
The tents in the market are of many different models,
for age, measures, materials, forms.
The manufacturer Zifer Italia (knew as Autohome)
has changed over time
constructive techniques, reaching
weights lower than the previous ones.
For Maggiolina medium present in Vivishare, you need
the roof bars with a maximum capacity of at least 70 kg.
For Maggiolina small present in Vivishare, you need
the roof bars with a maximum capacity of at least 65 kg.
The maximum transportable weight is referring to the
car in movement, and usually, but it isn't the rule,
to the pair of bars. (See the explanatory image)
The example:
BARS LENGTH
The length of the bars, as suggested on the site
AutoHome (the manufacturer) should support
the Maggiolina for all its width.
From experience, we can know that it isn't
strictly necessary for tourist routes on a paved road.
The lower shell of Maggiolina is rigid
and the bars support it well.
For tourist trips, there are not sufficient solicitations
to be able to undermine the structure of the tent.
We have already used 110 cm long bars
to support a Maggiolina medium, 145 cm wide.
SECTION OF THE BARS
The best section, fixing the tent to the bars,
is the rectangular section, but it isn't strictly
necessary. The coupling plates (clamps) generally
adapt itself to the sections of the bars.
UNIVERSAL COUPLING PLATES (CLAMPS) MADE
BY VIVISHARE FOR ITS RENTERS
If you are our renter, we deliver them or send you
the design if you want to make them yourself.
DISTANCE BETWEEN BARS
Max distance between bars to mounting
a Maggiolina is 145 cm (57 in),
and Min is 75 cm (29.50 in).
See the image below.
The type of bars you see in the image isn't suitable
for carrying a Maggiolina. The attachments,
(indicated by the red arrow) that fix the bars to the roof,
are slightly higher than the bars. Load the maggiolina
and set it on these it's possible; however, the lower shell
could be damaged, by weight concentrated in these points.
CLAMPS DISTANCE
For Maggiolina Small and Medium: The distance between
the attachments must be equal to, or greater than 67 cm (26.37 in)
(the second image shown is better than words).
The Maggiolina has two fixing rails at a distance of 67 cm (26.37 in),
so, the roof bars in their lower part must have sufficient space for fixing.
EXTREME OFF-ROAD
For extreme off-road vehicles, the situation is a bit different.
To mount a Maggiolina, we need 3 bars to get more support
for the pitching of the tent. Moreover, the bars must
support the maggiolina across its width,
which is not necessary for road trips.
The off-road route could present drawbacks and unexpected events.
Trees and branches can invade the roadway and passing
you could scratch the upper shell or in very rough terrain,
the vehicle is lying crosswise could carry the tent,
if protruding beyond the lateral limits of the car,
to touch plants or soil present sideways. Off-roaders generally
use small maggiolinas, or Air Camping and similar, that are within
the lateral limits of the vehicle.
