GEAR ROCK® Kootenay is a 2 person hard top roof tent with a parallel opening top shell. The strong gas springs allow the tent to be set up in just 30 seconds and are so stabilizing that a lever lock is not necessary. The material of the tent consists of a cotton / polyester blend fabric (280g / m²), which reinforces the ripstop and is therefore particularly tear-resistant.

Inside it is PU coated to prevent the transfer of moisture (mildew protection). A circumferential, outer aluminum frame in the underbody also ensures that the underbody is particularly stable in conjunction with the vehicle. The tough materials and lightweight construction of the shells (fiberglass reinforced ABS) combine to produce a low total weight of just 58kg.

For perfect adaptation to any weather condition, all inlet openings can be arranged with tie rods. It has two side entrance openings and one on the back. The telescopic ladder can be extended up to 2.30 m. Featuring 2 removable shoe bags, these can be placed anywhere, depending on where you choose to enter. The protected top prevents the ingress of water and therefore offers use in all weather conditions.

Inside, GEAR ROCK® Kootenay is equipped with a 6 cm thick foam mattress, protected by a water-repellent (bottom) and soft (velvet) protective cover. The standard also includes a 10 mm thick 3D mesh fabric as a mattress. For the additional accessories include 2 large internal pockets that offer space for a laptop, power bank and so on. Also included in the delivery is a large, removable Luminairea LED storage net under the top shell and a ladder bag, which can be fixed in the tent. A highlight of the Kootenay equipment is the 300 g down jacket with water-repellent lining.

With a size of 180 x 210 cm it can be used in the roof tent or even outdoors. If you want to have a full 360° view, the entire tent body can be easily removed with the zipper. A wider view is not possible! The scope of delivery also includes a thermal insert, which can be fixed in the tent if required. This makes the Kootenay usable without limitation even in the fourth season. Optionally you can equip the Kootenay with a 2000 x 2500 mm awning. This is zipped over an extra secure zip strip under the top shell. This gives you extra body height, especially with low vehicles, because the awning gains a full meter in height by folding down the top shell. It can be mounted on both long sides, which brings enormous advantages when choosing the location.
